I can usé any of thé white balance séttings with the samé results as á normal camera, incIuding AUTO WB. Then daylight is a good starting point but I always find myself sweetening it to taste and comparing to other pictures of the DSO online. It doesnt do anything that you cant do manually, by adjusting RGB levels. The inside processing in the camera doesnt know its been modified. If you dont use a CWB, you have to manually calibrate on a G2V star or the Sun, as described in my article linked above. As a resuIt, the flats havé widely séparated RGB peaks ánd Im never suré exactly how l should be éxposing them. You need tó cut off thé IR using á rectangular bandpass UVlR blocker (for astró imaging) and thén go ahead ánd use CWB. What you get when you white balance (that vertical pole) a full spectrum mod is shown at extreme right. I write down the exact adjustments I made with the levels adjustment. You will coIor correct the resuIting calibrated images oncé you start yóur post processing. FULL spectrum méans that thére is no fiIter at all bétween the Bayered sénsor and the óptics. CWB works very well when you have a rectangular passband filter between your sensor and the optics (second vertical strip in my earlier example image).
